ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The NATIONAL ICT CONFEDERATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (NICP) is the national umbrella organization of all about 70 ICT Councils in the Philippines strategically operating in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, linking provinces and cities to the world.

The ICT Councils are basically composed of local stakeholders from local governments, business and industry sector, academe and human resource sector, working together to promote their respective locations as investment destinations for ICT-related industries and jobs.

Since 2008, NICP assisted the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), formerly CICT and ICTO-DOST, conducts annual national ICT summits in key cities throughout the country. In these summits, participants comprise of many local government units, with the hundreds of representatives from the line agencies, colleges, universities, and companies. ICT Councils and LGUs converged to review, evaluate, plan and share best ICT practices.

Another highlight of the SUMMIT is to offer a variety of locations for ICT-related direct foreign or local investments, or joint venture arrangements, particularly in voice and non-voice global services, HR, back-office support, shared services outsourcing, finance and accounting, research and development and knowledge process and creative process outsourcing (game development, animation, multi-media and advertising), health information management, medical coding, billing and transcription.

MULTISECTORAL WORKING SYNERGY

Creation of a working synergy for all stakeholders in ICT development. Identification of resources and support for ICT development among stakeholders and partnerships with the private and public sector.

LATEST DIGITAL INNOVATIONS

Sharing of programs and best practices among the local stakeholders, with national and international partners. DigitalCitiesPH Awardees will present their ICT best practices in E-governance.

JOBS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN ICT

Advocacy campaign on all available opportunities and jobs in ICT trough collaboration and networking between the private and public agencies/ institutions to achieve target number of jobs and investments.

COLLABORATION AND NETWORKING

Build and improve your ICT network by getting involve in this summit. Have the chance to meet key people in the ICT sector that will be coming from across the country.

What is the goal of the NICP SUMMIT?

Since the foundation of NICP in 2008 our goal has been consistent to be a unifying national ICT organization to create IT-BPM jobs and opportunities in the countryside.
This year's theme is INCLUSIVE INNOVATION.

Inclusive innovation is the prime mover of socioeconomic growth, it propels the countryside development in terms of economy, governance and delivery of service. It is the mechanism in building innovation-ecosystem that is collective, synergistic and multi-dimensional.

11:30 AM PANEL DISCUSSIONS:
The panel will delve into the desired imperatives to build an
ecosystem that will bring about countryside development
through ICT. There continue to be challenges and constraints, as
well as opportunities in making this ecosystem a reality
, difficulties to be hurdled for cities and municipalities to achieve
growth. The panelists will attempt to respond to the new issues
and explore possible solutions. They will also provide updates
and insights on how the countryside, particularly the less
urbanized ones, can significantly contribute their fair share in
this global concern.

During the session, the NICP Academy will be introduced as the

The exhibitors inside the 3 hall will come from local startups, research and development institutions such as
Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), R&D and Innovations from Academes and
National Government Agencies. Sponsor exhibitors and the three clusters will be utilized the main lobby of the Iloilo Convention Center for
promotions and business transactions.
There will be some FUN ACTIVITIES every afternoon in the exhibit areas. It is expected that games and
concerts are among the few of these FUN ACTIVITIES.
